Prometheus's Fire

Patricia Phillips MA PhD works on the intellectual history of women. In The Scientific Lady (Wiedenfeld and Nicholson, London, and St Martin's Press, New York) she covered the study of science by women 1600-1918.

She combines this with producing and writing scientific and natural history documentaries. Her latest film, Rhino Journey (1999), recounts the life history, from birth to maturity, of the Greater One-horned Rhinoceros (the rarest big mammal on earth). It is the first film of its kind, and was commissioned by Discovery US and NHK Japan.
