Prometheus's Fire: Contributors

Dr Seamus Duffy was born on December 8 1938 and died on May 15 1996. He was awareded his BSc with first-class honours by University College Galway, through the medium of Irish. He returned to his native Armagh where he taught A-level chemistry in Armagh College of Further Education.

While doing this he registered for a PhD at the Univertsity of Ulster, completing his thesis on the Mechanics Institutes and their role in adult education.

A keen sportsman, he published on the history of rugby and cricket in Armagh, becoming President of the Armagh Cricket Club, where he broadened the scope of recruitment, improving the standard of Armagh cricket.
