Prometheus's Fire: Contributors

Dr Clive Williams is from Glamorganshire; he has a BSc (econ) from London, MA from Edinburgh and PhD from Trinity College Dublin. After completing his national service with the Royal Army Educational Corps in North Africs, and after graduation and teacher training, he taught in schools in London and Hong Kong.

He was appointed Lecturer in Education in TCD in 1962, and in 1968 left for the University of Wales at Aberystwyth, where he became Head of the Education Department until his retirement in 1991.

His main research interests have been the history of apprenticeship, the Pestalozzi approach to education, and the factors determining university choice.

His main extra-curricular interest is boat-building, and he now spends much of his time cruising the waterwaysd of Britain in his narrow-boat.
